Application in road and bridge filling projects
The application of how foam concrete can be applied to road and bridge filling projects is still very hot in the industry. Besides, because of high construction volume and low total cost, the number of enterprises increases and the application volume grows on a growing scale, occupying over half of the cast-in-place foam concrete.
Presently there are numerous production and construction bodies that have utilized foam concrete in different kinds of road and bridge filling exercises in my country. The use of foam concrete in filling-up projects of roads and bridges has become the mainstream of industry applications and accomplished much of economic and social gains. Nevertheless, as opposed to the traditional foam concrete, performance and requirements of the foam concrete in road and bridge filling are very different. The traditional foam concrete is focused on the need for thermal insulation and fire resistance and other performance attributes, while foam concrete for filling of road and bridges has other requirements for strength and density and for performance indicators such as fluidity, coagulation, durability, environmental adaptability, and safety. Some of them also require to satisfy the special needs of roads, bridges and railways, and this is more special. The application forms of foam concrete in the projects of road and bridge filling are constantly growing every year and there is increasing trend every year.
The cast-in-place foam concrete products of many domestic companies were successfully applied on a large scale construction of engineering in all over the country in 2019, such as the foundation of high-speed railway, the highway of all levels, the construction of islands and reefs in the South China Sea, various bridges, the airport terminal, the high-speed railway station, And there are also the overseas projects which have been implemented, namely the foam concrete backfill project of the abandoned RC400 oil pipeline in Thailand, the lecture hall, Confucius Institute, and the library building project of University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania that has been constructed with the Chinese aid, and the Mombasa Airport Expressway project in Kenya.
