Ever since the widespread using of cast-in-place foam concrete building system in 2008, it has been a new spotlight in the industry development due to the great propaganda of Foam Concrete Association. Based on rough statistics, over the past decade, there have been several hundreds of residential communities with large-scale applications, with the total area of construction reaching 30 million square meters. Currently, there are at least over 100 companies which are involved in the construction and the technical development of foam concrete walls. What is more proud is that this original technology of ours has gone abroad, and the technical equipment has been exported to more than 10 countries and Taiwan, including Mongolia, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, and many companies have undertaken projects abroad. Foam concrete cast-in-place walls have shown a broad application market abroad.

The foam concrete cast-in place composite walls have started a new boom of development in the last three years. Not only has the scale of projects, the number of participating companies, the scope of application experience explosive growth, but also a string of major technological ventures have been successfully carried out, thus forming strong technical base for future success.

The cast-in-place foam concrete building system has evolved from the first to the second and now to the third generation of the demolition formwork walls, composite walls without demolished formwork to the present-day third generation of steel mesh formwork foam concrete light steel keel composite walls.

The mesh formwork cast-in-place concrete wall technology is a high level of construction technology imported from abroad by Tsinghua University, but it uses normal concrete and wall can’t achieve self-insulation. Currently, this technology has been brought into the foam concrete industry and upgraded whereby the ordinary concrete is replaced by a foam concrete so as to realize lightness and self-insulation of the wall. It is one of the significant technological advances in the form of mesh cast-in-place wall technology.

This technology is to fix the galvanized stretched steel mesh on the light steel keel, without using the building formwork, and the steel mesh itself plays the role of formwork. After pouring the foam concrete, wait for the slurry to initially set, scrape off the small amount of slurry that seeps out of the mesh surface, and add another mortar layer after hardening. Because the stretched mesh has longitudinal reinforcement ribs and strong tensile strength, it can resist the lateral pressure of the slurry, does not require a formwork, and the wall will not bulge and deform. In addition, the steel mesh also plays a role in preventing the wall from cracking.

The steel sections and steel plate mesh in the steel mesh formwork frame are very easy to cut, and the production of steel mesh formwork frames in various sizes will not have a significant impact on production efficiency. Therefore, the size of the components is highly flexible and can adapt to complex building plans, which is more flexible than general prefabricated components. Therefore, architectural diversity can be brought into play, building facades and plans can be more colorful, and market adaptability is strong.

The building system with steel mesh foam concrete light steel keel composite wall as the main body has the following advantages:

(1) The main body is a light steel structure, with factory-scale production of light steel mesh membranes. On-site mechanized assembly and cast-in-place foam concrete complement each other. The overall structure is strong, the construction is fast and simple (1-2km2 / d), cost-effective, low-cost, flexible and diverse, and suitable for special-shaped and complex parts.

(2) Sound insulation (45dB/10cm), lightweight (1/3-1/6 ordinary concrete), earthquake resistance (level 9), self-insulation, heat insulation, fire resistance, and durability.

(3) Completely solve the problem of hollowing and cracking of walls, completely solve the contradiction between building insulation and fire prevention, and solve the fire prevention problem of steel structures. The insulation and the building have the same lifespan, once and for all.

This technology, which has been innovatively developed in my country, has not only completed a large number of application construction projects in China, covering most provinces, but also gone abroad, with technical equipment exported to more than 10 countries and Taiwan along the "Belt and Road". Some advanced companies have undertaken projects abroad, covering Central Asia, Africa, Southeast Asia and other regions.
