1. The density of lightweight foam concrete is small, and the density grade is generally 300-1800kg/m3. The density grade of commonly used foam concrete is 300-1200kg/m3. In recent years, the ultralight foam concrete with a density of 160kg/m3 has also been applied in construction projects. Because of the low density of foam concrete, the use of this material in building structures such as internal and external walls, layers, floors and columns can generally reduce the dead weight of buildings by about 25%, and some can reach 30% -40% of the total weight of structures. Moreover, for structural members, if foam concrete is used instead of ordinary concrete, the bearing capacity of members can be improved. Therefore, the use of foam concrete in construction projects has significant economic benefits.
2. Good thermal insulation performance Because foam concrete contains a large number of closed small pores, it has good thermal performance, that is, good thermal insulation performance, which is not available in ordinary concrete. Generally, the thermal conductivity of foam concrete with density grade of 300-1200kg/m3 is between 0.08-0.3w/m · K, and its thermal resistance is 10-20 times of that of ordinary concrete. 3. Good sound insulation and fire resistance foam concrete is a porous material, so it is also a good sound insulation material. It can be used as a sound insulation layer on the floors of buildings, the sound insulation boards of highways, the top floors of underground buildings, etc. Foam concrete is an inorganic material that will not burn foam concrete, so it has good fire resistance. When used on buildings, it can improve the fire resistance of buildings.
